News and Updates!
The Elsa update is a fun one to share. This previously unhandled mare came in heavily in foal with baby Anakin. She is estimated to be only 3-4 years old. Physically, Elsa has made huge progress. She is a beautiful Arabian/QH standing about 14 hands. She needs farrier work and full vet exam at some point, but human touch is often terrifying for her. Derek and Jodi continue to show this girl absolute patience and love.
Handsome Hemi went to Kendall Road Equine Clinic thanks to your generous donations! He is officially rehabilitated and ready for his new home. While he is w/t/c sound, Hemi would make a beautiful trail mount at 18 hands high with his gentle, relaxed demeanor! You need to come out and meet this boy!
Bruno
This stately Friesian cross has stolen our hearts with his kind gaze. He came to us through a generous donation, by someone who saw his suffering and wanted him to enjoy a life without pain. He was a stallion until shortly before his arrival. He came in with terrible scratches, sore feet and a cresty neck. Now that his tiny shoes have been removed, our farrier team is working to slowly adjust his angles and make this stunning boy more comfortable. He is on a strict, low starch diet and new medication to help him feel his very best. He is said to be 11, but his body is in need of some rest. The love at New Life Equine has already helped the light return in his eyes. Years of neglect, improper feeding and poor shoeing have made this sweet boy very sore, but he is beautifully trained and on his way to a solid recovery. Next up, Fall shots and a fresh float! Bruno is not currently available for adoption. He needs time to unwind and learn how to be a horse again!
Veterinary Care
Our first priority is the health and recovery of our rescues. Many of the horses need urgent dental care and farrier services. Due to prolonged neglect, these horses need quality hay, top grain, and carefully selected supplements to safely increase their weight and help them regain muscle.
Mare and Foal
Mares heavily in foal are often stranded on slaughter lots to be trampled and abused under the stress of over-crowded pens under the hot sun. New Life Equine makes a special effort to take those closest to shipping to offer them a safe foaling experience, adequate food and water, as well as a quiet shelter while they re-cooperate.
Loving touch
Our rescues thrive at New Life Equine under the watchful eye of our tireless volunteer team. They are given time and space to heal from their trauma as they learn to trust and accept human touch. Slowly they learn to be groomed and lead. Our trainers work hard to get the young and unhandled horses gentled and started under saddle.

Do you have horses ready for adoption?
Yes! After one year of training and recuperation, we have a few horses ready for adoption. We require a re-homing fee that will be reinvested in the rescue in order to continue our mission. We carefully vet families and do require an adoption contract. Learn more about adoption!
Can I visit the New Life Equine Rescue?
We are not open to the public. Many of our horses come from traumatic situations. We must quarantine new rescues. They require rest and a quiet place to heal. We welcome volunteers and will accommodate scheduled visits, please reach out!
We welcome the support of anyone who wants to help in our mission to save horses.
